Toy Star Wars Vehicles - What is the Armored Assault Tank (AAT) and where can I buy it online?
The Armored assault tank (AAT) is a Trade Federation vehicle that appears in Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace, and Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. This medium-sized tank was a great asset of Trade Federation and the Confederacy of Independent Systems. The Armored assault tank was used extensively at the Invasion of Naboo and the later Clone Wars.
What are the features of the Armored assault tank?
The AAT is one mean machine; it has thick frontal armor that allows it to plough through walls, and is equipped with 55 high explosive shells, armor-piercing shells, and and high-energy shells. When they are fired, they are surrounded by high-energy plasma which improves the shells in numerous ways. Once it runs out of shells, the AAT has to return to its carrier to have its bottom section completely replaced, recharging its supply.
How does the Armored assault tank move?
The AAT has a repulsorlift engine which is an anti-gravity technology capable of levitating an object. This engine keeps it off the ground and propels it forward. Naboo's Gian and Flash speeders were much faster than the Armored assault tank. To make up for it's lack of speed, the Armored assault tank is heavily armed.
What is the Armored assault tank's weakness?
The weakest part of the vehicle is the bottom interior. During the clone wars, Many AAT's were destroyed by PLX-1 portable missile launchers. A single missile from the PLX-1 can totally destroy the AAT if it is aimed at the right location.
